My fascination for cabins stems from my own family log home built on a small island in Northern Michigan. From early college years and onwards, my friend Carly and I have collectively spent a several months there to remove ourselves from the buzz. This concept exploration is dedicated to her and any soul that would rather be lost amongst trees. This project also served as a spatial study on combining furniture and architecture, and reflecting the fundamental purpose of the retreat. Key features to note in this study include the concealed washroom, retractable staircase-bookshelf, and integrated storage components.
